Problem enabling the oximeter Apple Watch 6 app. I am stumped how to do this. The directions don't work.

I have a new Apple Watch 6 with phone and GPS. I have an iPhone XS Max. I am over age 18 and not using the family service, yet the directions to enable the watch's oximeter app don't work. I have looked through every option on the iPhone health app and nothing there allows me to activate the Oxomiter app on my watch. I went through Health->Respiratory and then there is nothing there to enable the app. What am I doing wrong?

Hello Stanley Horwitz,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! We understand you're having issues using the Blood Oxygen app on your Apple Watch; let's look into this more.

The following support article provides some troubleshooting steps to try for this behavior:

Measuring your blood oxygen levels with the Blood Oxygen app on Apple Watch Series 6 - Apple Support

Based on what you provided, you have all of the requirements. We would just suggest you make sure you have the latest version of iOS installed on your iPhone. As of this writing the current version iOS is 14.0.1:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

You also what to make sure you're in a country where the Blood Oxygen app is supported. You will be able to see this during the setup process.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards.
