How do I fix my iPhone 11 after updating to iOS 14. Shortly after I updated it, my phone crashed and I can’t open or use any apps. I also can’t turn off or shut down my phone. What do I do?

I have the same issue - iPhone 11 Pro Max. Updated to iOS 14, and now NO app will open.
I can't open Settings to restart it,
I can't even shut it down - the side button / volume up/down doesn't do anything.
Siri still responds, and I can scroll left and right through my home screens, but aside from that, it has been bricked.
it shows up when connecting to iTunes, but I can only check for an update. it won't let me backup or restore or reset.
this happened to me as well. everything everone has said dosent work. what i have been having to do is let it die and the turn it back on and it should work fine.
