MBP 2019 DisplayPort Audio Not Working

I'm trying to use external speakers connected to my monitor via 3.5mm audio cable. I have tested this setup using a PC connected via DisplayPort to the monitor, but am not able to get that same port to work with my MBP. I have listed below the hardware and tested fixes. I wanted to also note the monitor appears in my settings an available audio device, but no sound every comes out of the speakers.

Hardware

MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019)

LG 32GK850F-B

USB-C -> DisplayPort Cable

Tested Fixes

Reset NVRAM, PRAM, and SMC

Restarted Machine (several times)

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 10.15

Hello ahamill85,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

We understand from your post that you are not getting any sound from your LG 32GK850F-B 32 Inch UltraGear™ QHD Gaming Monitor with Radeon FreeSync™ 2 Technology. From the specifications it looks like this monitor is only compatible with Windows 10. You may need to contact LG for additional support.
