How to transfer videos from macbook to iphone 11 pro

Hello,

I am an artist/content creator and after the new update it seems almost impossible to transfer videos from my MacBook pro to my iPhone 11 pro.

I have tried to airdrop it to my phone from my MacBook but it fails every time (has since day 1 6 years ago) so I found a work around. I used to work around this by texting myself the video via text messenger/messages on my MacBook pro to my cell phone number, but after this most recent update it seems this is now un-doable. Every time I try it just says message fails to send.

So now I am waiting to upload my videos to ig/facebook because I can't for the life of me figure out how to get videos i edited on my laptop on my phone. Can you please help?

iCloud Photo Library or Google Photos/Google Drive, don't think there are many other alternatives if you need them in Camera Roll.

Another idea (needs testing) is moving it through File Sharing in Finder to Files app, then in Files tap and hold the video > Share at the bottom of the list > scroll down a bit > Save image (video?). Tedious, but may be faster than loading to the cloud.

It looks like you had difficulties using AirDrop to transfer your files, so let's take a look into this together.

To get started, let's make sure you meet all the following requirements in order for AirDrop to work smoothly:

Use AirDrop on your Mac

Under: "If you can't see the other device in AirDrop"

You can also, sync your videos from your Mac to your iPhone by following these steps:

Sync files from your Mac to iPhone or iPad

We hope this information is useful. Kind regards.

Hi drummerked404,

Have you tried using iCloud Photos?

"iCloud Photos is the easiest way to keep your entire library safe and updated across your devices, automatically. Or you can use your computer to sync photos and videos manually to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch"

Keep your photos safely stored and up to date on all of your devices

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Have a nice day.

Every time I try to send this vid to iCloud photos nothing happens. The copy/paste buttons are clickable but the vids never make their way to iCloud. No error message either lol like it just accepts that it can’t and won’t move it over. Same thing happens when I try to manually sync.

what happened to plugging in your phone, finding it in finder, dragging and dropping the file to your phone in finder? This was the most beautifully uncomplex thing. The guy at the Apple store who sold me my Mac touted airdrop as the next best thing since sliced bread and I can’t even send videos? Haha like for a company who is so rich and touts themselves as user friendly, you’d think this wouldn’t be such a hassle just to save a video from iMovie to my phone. 🤦‍♂️
