Anyone else having problems with peacock and Apple TV 5th gen? I tried
to watch a show and it would not load it. I could select the series and
episode, but it would not play it.
I removed the app, restarted the device and installed the app again and it worked. The next day the same thing happened.
I have the latest update installed on the Apple TV.

If I remove and reinstall the app, I'd think it would install the latest app available. I have tried watching the show thru both options. When I select via Apple TV app, it goes to the peacock app and just sits at the main screen. I can hear the promo for the show in the background, but when I select the episode the thumbnail it just sit there. I tried to select a different episode, same results.
I tried going directly to the peacock app and selecting the episode only to have it do the same thing.
The app store shows the last update to the app was 3 weeks ago.
But why would it work after installing the app, but after an hour or so of no use, suddenly not load any content? Removing and installing the app each time is not a user friendly option.
I did send them a message. Guess I'll need to see what they have to say.

I don’t have the peacock App to test for you. I think it’s American affiliated with NBC. Best to reach out to them or your cable provider if you’re using that to watch NBC content.

its probably telling you to force close the app.
See if the Peacock App has an update to install
Or try using it through the Apple TV App, if it’s in there.
It would only install the latest app if they’ve updated their app to work with tvOS 14. Otherwise you get the same version.
Britbox is doing the same thing, it crashes but works via the TV App
