Well, there are a lot of possibilities; the first thing to try is to restart your router by removing all power from it for 30 seconds.

Another one of them is MAC filtering. If it is enabled on your router you may need to disable a new feature in iOS that sends a random MAC address to your router as a way to prevent your phone being tracked by MAC address. There are 2 ways to deal with this; the easiest is to go to Settings/Wi-Fi and tap on the i next to the network name. Then turn off Private Address. The alternative is to log in to your router and enter the Wi-Fi address shown on that info page into the “allowed” list in MAC filtering (called Access Control on some routers). Either one should work if this is the problem.

Let us know if either helps, and if not there are other things to try.

Hi Nanyar, I don't know if this might help, but i am now able to connect to WiFi if i take my phone near the modem[ basically i hold the phone touched just behind the modem ], i hold the phone for say 3-5 seconds, then the phone automatically gets connected to the WiFi,

Please note that , this WiFi is already is in my Previously connected network List hence i did not have to type-in the password, and I have not tried this after "forget network" option, I will try if this thing is true for other networks, gotta check with Friend's WiFi,

I know this sounds ridicules, but it worked for me 10/10 Times so far,

PS: my Mac is already connected to this same network, and i have logged in to iCloud and iPhone with the same apple id, not sure if this has something to do with the network connectivity,

PPS: I rolled back from 14.2 beta to 14.1 using ITunes, if your phone is not connecting to network, you may try this option, please remember to take a backup though

I am using iPhone 7 Plus and iPad 6th Generation. All was well until iOS 14 update. Wi-Fi is not connecting to the Internet after iOS 14 update. It is pertinent to mention here that my Laptop and my family members' devices are connecting to Wi-Fi from the same Router. I have explored all the options available under the Earth i.e. Resetting Router to Factory Defaults, Resetting Network Settings, Resetting All Settings, Force Shut Down etc. and the Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points and How to troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity suggested by APPLE but to no avail.

Hi Lawrence,

I started facing WiFi issues after i installed the 14.2 public beta, it takes a lot of time to get connected to a hotspot, and even after getting connected, the internet is too slow also frequently network goes dead,

I rolled back my OS to 14.0.1 also tried resetting the network settings, turning off the router, and turning off private address,

nothing helped me so far,

I am curious to know what are the other things to try,

PS: I am also having another iPhone 7 with OS 14.0.1, and it is not having these issues

See this Apple support article—>If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network - Apple Support which may not help. Also this—>Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference - Apple Support. Those are the official words on the subject; we probably need to go deeper. Although your symptom sounds like interference. Have you tried:

  • Restarting the phone?
  • Forgetting the network and reconnecting?
  • Is the problem still present if you are very close to the router?
  • Does the problem exist on both the 2.6GHz and 5GHz bands? (do you have a way to differentiate between them)?

There were reported Wi-Fi issues with 14.0, which 14.0.1 was claimed to resolve.

I’m curious about your reference to a “hotspot” - do you mean a conventional router, or the personal hotspot on another device?

With great respect to you and due apologies, I have already stated that "I have explored all the options available under the Earth i.e. Resetting Router to Factory Defaults, Resetting Network Settings, Resetting All Settings, Force Shut Down etc." in my earlier post. My answer is YES to all of your questions posed by you. I have, countless number of times in the past two weeks, explored all the options in my earlier posts and also, all the options suggested by you by way of your questions. I hereby clarify that I have not at all referenced to HOT SPOT in any of my posts.

Have you updated to 14.0.1, which is supposed to fix Wi-Fi connectivity problems?
