Netflix and airplay

I’ve been trying to get Netflix to airplay from my iPad to my Apple TV and for some reason it won’t register that my Apple TV is on. I tried with other streaming services and I can get them to airplay from my iPad but not Netflix.

I was using Airplay just fine from my iPhone to Apple TV as well as mirroring from desktop Now all I get on Apple TV when I select a home movie is a spinning wheel. When attempting to stream home movies from either my iPhone or desktop, all I get on the Apple TV is a spinning wheel. The TV screen shows the item I'm attempting to stream, but it doesn't play.

Airplay problem..... The Airplay icon is not displaying on my phone or on my Mac laptop to enable linking to my Apple Tv for streaming. Using the screen sharing icon, I get no Apple tv listed . All are connected to my home internet account. Why can I not connect my devices to my Apple Tv?

Netflix discontinued Airplay over a year ago.
