Airplay problem.....

The Airplay icon is not displaying on my phone or on my Mac laptop to enable linking to my Apple Tv for streaming. Using the screen sharing icon, I get no Apple tv listed . All are connected to my home internet account. Why can I not connect my devices to my Apple Tv?

Verify that your router is set to bridge the wired and the wireless for both 2.4 and 5 GHz. Only then is the home network seen as one logical network. If the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands use different SSID network names, then they are seen as separate networks, which may block devices from communicating with each other.

Verify that your Apple TV has AirPlay enabled. It has an on|off setting.
