data recovery white screen and cannot connect to PC due to accessory unlock

daughters iPhone 8 gets white screen, says press home button to recover data and then that it didn't work and need to restore from back-up - however I cannot connect to iTunes because I need to unlock the phone to allow the accessories and it is stuck on this white screen. Have tried hard rebooting the phone. Connected via multiple phone cords and verified that they are working with my other iPhone. Unfortunately on my iPhone that is working I get a message to "Trust this computer" which I would also not be able to get past.

I am at a loss.

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities! It seems your daughter's iPhone shows a white screen, and you're unable to connect the iPhone to a computer.

Test the behavior after using a computer with Tunes or Finder to put the iPhone into recovery mode, and then reinstall iOS. This process will attempt to reinstall the software while keeping the data intact on the device. Although titled for a different issue, you can see those steps in the following article:
