What does a red dot mean above the LTE bars when on a call?

As for the apps involved, quit the active apps one at a time until you find the app that was triggering the icon display.

What does red dot mean. I see the explanation for orange and green dot but I have a red dot above the cellular icon on the face of the iPhone 12.
It's an orange dot, but it does appear red when on a totally dark background. It's the same dot which is being discussed in this thread and it means your microphone is being used by an app.
But why is the microphone being used during the call? Is the call being recorded?
Because the only way the person on the other end of the phone call can hear you is if the microphone is in use! Nothing is being recorded.

Why do we care to see if the mic or cámara is bieng used!?! Obviously if we are using it we know it’s bieng used 🤦🏻♂️

I only see a red dot & that's when I'm talking to someone on speakerphone. I know they are watching & listening to me through the mic & cameras.

What happens when you try to make the call? All that red light is showing is that your mic is hot.
Your question has been answered many times in the thread you didn’t bother to read, but the red dot is an orange dot that appears red with some background settings.

you do not understand correctly. there is no recording whatsoever
It's simply an icon to let you know the microphone is in use. Nothing more.

so, when i went to control center it had a list of apps.
all i do is just remove those i don’t want in use right?
