There is no means to bypass that orange (or red) status indicator.
if it’s not the app you are immediately using (such as the phone app, or the voice-memo-recording tool), open the app switcher and close an app at a time, until you find the one accessing the microphone; when the orange (or red) indicator extinguishes.
Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support
If you make a telephone call, or use FaceTime, or use the voice memo tool, or any other app that needs and uses the microphone as part of its function, the orange (or red) indicator will re-appear.
Note: The orange microphone-accessed indicator can appear as red, depending on the screen background chosen.
this is not correct. i have both the RED and ORANGE dots that appear on my dark background and i have been able to tell the difference for almost fifty years
Powerful phone
How do I turn it off

You explained an orange or green dot. What does a red dot mean? That your microphone and camera are NOT being used?
Thanks
Hmmm. Perhaps that’s true I haven’t given it much thought tbh.
We can’t turned it off
I’m not on any phone call it seems to always be on except when I start talking about it then it seems to go off but comes right back on how do I turn it off it’s kinda creepy

Your linkDoes not say anything about a red dot.
Clarification: while I posted it, that’s not my link, that’s what Apple states about icons and symbols.
Apple states the dot colors are orange and green.
There’ve been discussions whether the orange dot looks red on some devices.
Verify the behavior of your red dot matches that documented for the orange dot, and you’ll have your answer.
Does that mean the call is being recorded or just accessing the microphone? Every time I make a call or use speech to text the orange dot appears. I have deleted a lot of apps including Facebook. I have removed permissions for the apps to access the microphone.

I notice my red light now eveytime I call on Siri. “Hey Siri” Bang, the red light pops up. Is this New? What is it for?
This would because talking to Siri involves turning the mic on, which is what the red light indicates.
There are only two lights. The microphone indicator light will appear either red or orange, depending on the background. Green indicates the camera is in use.
"Ports" is a networking term. The lights have nothing to do with networking, only with what is happening on your phone.
Open Control Center. It will tell you what device is using your camera or microphone right at the top.
It just means the microphone is being used ➡️ About the orange and green indicators in your iPhone status bar - Apple Support
