Date missing on Apple Watch after update

I updated my watch and now the date is missing from the watch face. I’ve checked the settings and see nothing about setting the date. Anyone else notice this?

I went ahead and did what I suggested you do. First I took off apple calendar. As I expected this removed the date complication from my watch. I then installed Google Calendar and integrated it with iCloud and all my stored apple calendar accounts. Google calendar worked as I expected as I had used it in the past. I then installed the apple calendar on my phone and the date complication reappeared on my watch face. I now have two working calendars on my watch.

If you don't want to see or use the apple calendar on your phone edit your phones screen and choose remove calendar. Instead of deleting it move it to the new App Library. Then you don't have it on your screen. The only thing you have to do is not delete your google calendar and just reinstall the apple calendar. It wasn't a pain in the butt. Took me a few minutes to do the experiment. Good luck.
