Hey Gang, I'm getting some image retention along the top and the bottom of my iMac display.
Seems the screensaver "trick" resolves the image retention but I was curious if a screen replacement would fix this completely? Also, if Apple can replace it, would the screen be replaced with a Samsung screen rather than my current screen produced by LG?

Apple does not state what brand of display it uses so if you want to go to the expense (on a 2014 IMHO that would be pretty foolish) you can ask at that time. As far as would a replacement solve the issue, well it would solve it until you it occurred again. To prevent it from happening please follow Apple's advice in Avoiding image persistence on Apple displays
Thanks. Yeah, I'm thinking that it is not worth it but was interested in how the displays are sourced and chosen when going through a replacement process.
