Since I upgraded my series 5 to watchOS 7, the screen is too dim to use when the “always on” feature is set to off. I don’t like the always on feature, but the screen is so dim when it wakes up that it is useless (brightness is set at max). When the always on feature is enabled, brightness is fine. Anyone else seeing this?
I had this problem today and was solved by pressing crown and the button next to it to force a restart - now it's as bright as usual.
Brightness had always worked perfectly up to today.

Are you seeing the same issue? Screen brightness renders watch unusable when “always on” option is toggled off and everything normal with the option on?
It’s so dim when always on is toggled off. I will call support today. Can barely see what time it is
Never once had a problem with dimness in my Series 3 or 5 until the release of iOS7. The release of iOS 7.1 did not fix this. Continues to be an issue. I can hardly see if. I have force restarted it which works for awhile then it happens again. Makes wearing my watch not fun! Hope they fix in next update.
Display was always normal until I updated to 7.2 When watch restarted it was almost too dim to see. Brightness did not affect it and it was the same whether always on Was on or off. I forced a restart and it seems to be back to normal. Hope it stays that way.
