I need instructions on how to add an account to my Mac Computer

My Computer has my Granddaughters ID on it. I need to put my ID on it. How do I add my ID and make it the default. When I purchased the computer I did not have a apple phone so that is why Grace set it up with hers. I now have an apple phone so I need to set an account for me.
