Workouts Not Showing up in Fitness app on iPhone

Hello,

My last 2 workouts are not showing up in the Fitness app on my iPhone. The data from my workout is being sync'd to my phone because I can see the move and exercise information from my run is showing up and closing my rings but the actual workout itself is not showing up under Workouts in the Fitness app.

Thank you,

Jim

Hello All,

Yes, like Gregory I unpaired my watch, synced my phone, erased it and restored it from the cloud. It wasn’t easy and it took a few hours to get it all done. There were a few times I thought I would not be able to restore my phone when I needed to get a code from my other iPhone. Thank goodness I was able to find it. I won’t be so smug anymore whenever a friend with a Samsung says he has a better phone.

I was disappointed that all the runs, walks, hikes and workouts that didn’t sync to my phone did not show up when I restarted everything. The workouts that were on my watch and not synced to my phone are no longer on my watch and seem to be gone for good.

But yes, this morning after my run my workout sync’d perfectly with both heart rate and map data. Let’s hope it stays that way.

But this has dissolved the myth in my mind that Apple makes great products. They make mistakes just like everyone else.

Thank you,

Jim

I did a chat with Apple Support today to let them know this issue. I recommend others here on this thread do the same. As of now I’ve been told to back up my iPhone, and then unpair the Apple Watch and then add it again. I have not tried this yet, and now am reluctant to try since @onrdrasekcz just posted they had tried that and it didn’t work.

So I went ahead and followed the instructions from the support article that was posted yesterday. Although it took all evening, And at one point I feared I bricked my phone, it looks like it has worked. So far today all my fitness data from my Apple Watch is being sent to the fitness app on the phone. As well my workout is showing on the phone. (Since it was an indoor workout, I don’t have a GPS map)

Of note: Be sure to back up the phone as indicated... that way your fitness data and achievements will be current on iCloud and it will re download when all is said and done. Due to a glitch, when I re paired my Apple Watch, my watch data file was corrupt, so I just paired as a new Apple Watch. Essentially I just lost my favourite watch faces, but that was easy to fix.

Good luck everyone!

I'm also having this problem that started with my new Watch 6 and latest WatchOS... but it's intermittent. Very odd, sometimes workouts show up and sometimes they don't, I can't see any pattern to it. One thing I notice, 3rd party apps always seem to work, it's Apple's own workout app on the watch that has a problem. It has gotten a little better but I would say about 1/4 of the time the workout does not show up... however the exercise minutes etc. do get recorded.

I am having this issue as well. Not only are some workouts not showing up on my iPhone, but the charts for move, stand and exercise are incomplete. For example if I stand for 12 hours in a day, I may only see 5 bars on the graph on the Fitness app. There is also missing heart rate data on the graph as well. When I do see a workout on the fitness app, I don’t see the GPS map of the workout. The data and graphs on my Apple Watch are fine.

I am running the latest OS on the phone and Apple Watch and I have tried a data re synch on the watch. Nothing fixes it.

now my question is, if I delete the fitness app and re install, will my data be saved and will this fix the issue? I feel this is a software issue with the fitness app.
