Car Bluetooth is not receiving text messages. Cannot turn off notifications.

i used to receive text notifications through my car’s (2019 Nissan Rogue) Bluetooth. But I am not receiving the notifications anymore.

I used to have the “show notifications” toggled on through the iphone’s Bluetooth menu. But that option is not there anymore.

how can I fix this? My phone is up to date with IOS 14.
