iOS14.0 Mail: „Allow sending from“ faulty

Mail on iOS14.0 mixes up my email aliases within iCloud.

it ignores my main mail alias selecting an different unintended one when sending and responding.

I did try to change the setting under Settings/iCloud/Mail/Allow sending from. However all attempted changes won’t stick and were reversed by the system.

I’d appreciate support on this matter.

I take great pride in my “vintage” @mac email address.

After updating to iOS 14, under “allow sending from” in mail, @iCloud and @me were turned “on” and I always had them toggled “off”. (I wouldn’t have known except a friend asked if I wanted her to to start using the @iCloud address instead of @mac...)

I toggled both of them off but they keep turning back on!!

I checked when composing messages to be sure they would be from @mac but three emails were sent from @iCloud yesterday, EVEN THOUGH the “from” box said @mac when I wrote them...

I sent two additional test emails to myself and verified that the from address was @mac when composing them, but when I received them, both show up as coming from @iCloud!

I updated to 14.0.1, hoping this would be fixed but it hasn’t been corrected.
