Fire HD 8 (6th gen) and Apple TV

I cannot find Apple Tv listed as an app only fire tv. Can my fire hd use my apple tv subscription? I already downloaded the fire tv app but my fire hd cannot find my apple tv account. Do I need to add a device? I do not have a device, the apple tv is on my iphone. Please give step by step instructions for a tech-dummy. Your brains are much appreciated.

Fire HD 8 (6th gen) seems to be a tablet. Unfortunately, just having ‘Fire’ in the name doesn’t make it compatible.

The Apple TV app is available for select streaming devices that are designed to give smart functionality to TVs through HDMI. If it is supported, then download the Apple TV app from the Fire TV Apps & Games Store. It will not be available to incompatible devices.
