Can't see the superdrive icon in the finder

if the disc doesn't show on the desktop, check your finder preferences. in the "general" tab, make sure the CDs, DVDs, and iPods box is check marked. it should appear once you insert a disk.

as far as not showing up in finder i would guess that you need to open finder before inserting a disc. look for it in locations.

if you can't eject a disc that is already inserted, dialabrain's suggestion should work.

It is a fabulous new feature of the OS that when you insert a blank CD/ DVD into your

superdrive that it will not show on the Desktop. It is super useful for users like your self.

What software are you using to burn your CD with, the software should still be able to write to the disk.

What exactly is it that you are trying to burn to CD? A folder? A disk image file?

Make sure that the CD drive is visible in System Information (Hold down option key, and choose System Information... from the Apple menu). If it is there, then just try control-clicking the thing you want to burn and choose Burn.

Try holding down the trackpad or mouse button after restarting the computer.

i should have added that "locations" can be hidden in finder. hover to the right of locations until the option shows up.
