Screen Time Pop-Ups with Applications

I have screen time set up on two kids' laptops with Allowed Websites Only setting. The issue I'm experiencing is that despite setting apps like Zoom to Always Allowed, Screen Time is popping up massive numbers of request to authorize random IP addresses.

The message is xxx attempted to access a secure website

or

xxx attempted to access these secure websites.

This obviously makes Screen Time totally unworkable in a home school environment.

Is there some way to resolve this without requiring constant oversight of authorizing IP addresses? Seems like a tremendous flaw in the Screen Time software.

Disabling Screen Time is not an option.

Both computers are new, recent MBA and Catalina fresh install.

@Tehmoji.

  1. After calling Apple Support, they were not able to figure out how to resolve this problem.
  2. I believe these IP requests are "legit" in the sense that they are likely valid Application requests. If you look at IP whois information or rDNS they seem to be valid Cloud providers like Amazon and Google.

I would like to see some commentary from Apple Support on plans to resolve this as it's a significant defect.
