When I go into my library and type an artist name b/c I want to listen to or see all songs by that artist, the result is to show a list of individual albums vs what I want to see (a list of songs). So I cant just listen to or see all the songs without clicking into each album. Is there a way to change this so the I don't have to do these extra steps?

It sounds like you need help using the search function in Apple Music. When you search for an artists, you would type their name and tap search on the keyboard. Across the top you would then have options for Top Results, Artists, Albums, Songs, etc. You would then click Songs to see the songs by that artist. You can also go to the artist page to see more about that artist and all of the songs and albums by that artist.
