Playstation DualShock 4 Controller keeps disconnecting from Apple TV

I've bought a DS4 controller to connect to my Apple TV HD for Arcade games. It connects via Bluetooth and everything works fine... for a while and then it disconnects. I then have to press the PS button to reconnect, but it disconnects again within seconds sometimes. It seems to stay connected while in bluetooth settings, but when I go into a game it disconnects just as you start playing. The controller is fully charged, I have reset the controller numerous times, I unpaired and repaired, I restarted, I even reset my whole Apple TV and did a setup from scratch. Nothing works.

I've tried to look online and it seems a handful of people are having problems, but have not found a solution. Someone even suggested that I move my router as it might be interfering, so I switched it off and still did the same thing. My apple remote works perfectly and the controller stays connected on my iPad, iPhone and Mac. Think it might be a software bug on Apple TV?

I'm running tvOS 14.

I returned my controller. I think that maybe the Bluetooth on the PS4 DS V1 is old and not that compatible with the Apple TV. Going to get a PS5 controller.

I am experiencing the same thing. I've referred to the referenced material, but this did not address the issue, or provide a resolution. Any other recommendations?
