Ever since I installed Mojave on my MBP, I have had issues with the Apple Mail Client.
Some messages, but not all cause the app to lock up.
I have not been able to find a rhyme or reason as to which messages cause the problem.
I have tried deleting and adding the account again with no change.

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
If still no good Disconnect from the Internet, then start Mail, look for the last rec'd eMail.
Does Mail crash if no internet?
Quit Mail & login to your WebMail in a Browser, if possible delete any later eMails there after the last rec'd one on the Mac.
If you have no POP accounts & they’re all IMAP accounts then in Mail’s Mailbox menu choose Rebuild.

Yes, unfortunately it is still happening.
It happens with new mail and older messages.
Only seems to happen with one particular gmail account. (a managed school account)

It is an account issued to me by a public school.
It is a gmail account but the address does not end in gmail.com.
Not sure if that matters.

OK, I don't know anything about how that would be handled, does the School have IT that could help?

Well, I may have spoke too soon...after I replied, the problem happened again.
Also tried rebuilding the mailbox.
How is that account "managed"?
