Apple health app NOT WORKING

Ever since I updated to iOS 14 my health app has stopped recording data. When I try to edit or add data, it loads forever and nothing appears. When I try to open the app in settings, my iPhone freezes and I have to close out all panes or restart. The same thing happens when I try to connect my Apple Watch/health app to other fitness apps (my fitness pal). This is driving me CRAZY! please help!
