Deleting photos from Mac but not from iCloud
This is a variation on previously asked questions. Apologies for duplication.
My basic question is, how can I delete photos from Mac without deleting from the cloud. But here is the twist:
My Mac has two user accounts on it. Mine and my daughter's.
My daughter has a new Mac and everything has been copied there that she needs.
I have, to this point, not deleted her profile, just as a backup, in case I need to restore from Time Machine if everything goes horribly wrong.
So, I know that I can not sync the Mac and iCloud photos, and that will allow me to delete (and importantly free up 20gb of space) from the Mac without losing pics, but what I'm trying to figure is if I can do that only for her account. I want mine to keep syncing on my Mac and hers to keep syncing on hers.
Is my only option to delete her profile? And if so, would I still be able to restore the Time Machine backup if her user has been deleted from this Mac? Big apologies for newbie type questions. I've never really had to restore a backup before.
Thanks!
