Microphone control in iOS (iOS 14, iPhone 11)

How can I mute/unmute the microphone in one central location?

For instance, I’d like to be able to mute and unmute the microphone from Control Center, rather than it being buried in the individual app consuming data from the microphone.

I mean, you now have that orange light telling you that the microphone is open and listening... so a mute/unmute control should be able to be had in Control Center, no?

Please add a mute/unmute microphone control in the Control Center, or at least give us the ability to create a shortcut to do that, and the ability to add our own shortcuts to Control Center.
