Mac user account for new mac

So I just got a new MacBook Pro. First thing I did was create a user account. Of course, then I started migration assistant and copied the user account and all the data from my old Mac. Now I have two user accounts, the old one and new one. At this point, I think I only need my old user account so I think I want to remove the user account I created when I unpacked the Mac. Is there any reason, I want to use the new user account. That means I would need to figure out how to get all the data under the new user account. Worth the aggravation?
