The Trash folder? If you go the Mail/Preferences/Accounts/Mailbox Behaviors and select each account, what is Trash Mailbox set as? If you don't want to see the deleted email folder, try selecting None.

If you delete emails you have added to On My Mac, they go to the On My Mac folder. If you delete iCloud emails, they go to the iCloud folder.
The ones that come right back aren't being deleted from the email server and so they sync back. You may have to go to the email provider's web site to delete those emails.
Did you check Mail/Preferences again to see if something changed?
that deleted messages folder- how do i make it go away? Also, why are there two trash folders? TY!
When I do that, tho; I get this:
I selected NONE, and it then showed me the above.

Thank you for your help!
You are welcome.
"deleted messages' folder just reappeared suddenly in Mail. I don't get it.
Er, I don't know. I just didn't want the deleted messages folder at the bottom to appear anymore. It looks like it's gone now.
Also, why are there two trash folders? ON MY MAC and ICLOUD. Which should trash go into?
And I have had cases where I delete emails------and they come RIGHT back. ?
Nothing changed. I have a feeling it has to do with fiddling with iCloud.com. I noticed that:
1) I emptied trash on iCloud.com Mail. Then I went to Mail on the Mac and hit 'Synchronize iCloud,' and the folder appeared again.
2) what is difference in MBP Mail: Trash/on my mac, and Trash/iCloud? Which do I want it to go to? They all go into Trash/iCloud now, yet you don't see them if you go to the web version of Mail. Am I making sense?

The iCloud one. That makes sense. I don't know why they don't show in the web version of Mail.
*I guess I don't know what 'emails added to On My Mac' means. I just get emails to my @icloud address, read 'em, and then hit the 'delete selected messages' folder----and that's where they go.
*So you're saying that when you empty trash on the web, that's when that 'deleted messages' folder shows up in Mail- it's supposed to to that?
*Also; I signed up to get daily Apple News emails- yet I've never received one. I don't get product announcements either.
