Recently my iPad has stopped displaying images such as census records from Ancestry. They suggest to use Google Chrome or another browser but all fail to display the image when I click on "View"
These images display on the Ancestry App or on a PC but no longer on the iPad.
Anyone have any thoughts as to why this is happening or which settings to change?

Seeing your iPad model (iPad 4th generation) and as far as I can find here:--> https://apps.apple.com/app/ancestry/id349554263 , your iPad (running the very old iOS 10.3.3) cannot download the latest iOS version (because of hardware incompatibility) or the current Ancestry app (it requires iPadOS 13 or later).
That might be the culprit.

Ancestry advise 1) to clear cache and cookies, 2) to disable extensions, 3) try a different browser eg. Chrome. None of this has any effect. (Extensions do not apply in my case)

I suspected that might be the root cause but hoped there could have been an alternative solution.

JoMac, if that happens only using Ancestry app, I do not think the problem is related to your iPad (nor its Settings).
Perhaps they (Ancestry) should release an updated version.
What iPad model are you using? which iPadOS version is running on it?

The iPad is a model A1458 and the OS is 10.3.3
Using Safari or Chrome, I can see images which have previously been saved to my "shoebox" but not images of new records.
On the Ancestry App, all the images are viewable but the mobile App is not as good as directly accessing the Ancestry website using a browser.
It might be that an update either from Apple or from Ancestry has caused the problem. I would prefer not to upgrade the iPad and hoped that a settings change might fix this but so far no luck.

Have you tried to contact Ancestry directly going to https://www.ancestry.com ?
