Constant updating

Running iPadOS 13.7 on my iPad Pro 11 [2018], I keep getting a notification to update my iPad. I checked Settings > General > Software Update to see that it's wanting me to update to... iPadOS 13.7. As a precaution, I did check About to see what version I'm currently running [13.7] and attempted the update thinking it was a minor patch update (Like a 13.7.1 or the like). Every time I click "Install Now", it takes a moment before it gives me an error message of "Cannot verify the update as you're not connected to the internet." I tried what was recommended on the support post for this specific error:

> Go to Settings > General > iPad Storage | Erase the update.

> Toggle WiFi and Cellular Data on and off (Tried just leaving WiFi on and Cell off as a precaution)

> Attempted to update via latest iTunes on Windows 10.

> Turning the iPad off and back on.

So far none of these have resolved the issue. As for updating with iTunes, it just says that my iPad is already up to date.

Hi BladedMaverick,

We understand your iPad will not download the iOS 14 update. We're happy to help.

It sounds like you've already completed a bunch of steps to try and get this update installed. If none of those have worked for you, you'll need to put the device in recovery mode and restore the software on it through a computer. Before doing any type of update or restore, you'll want to make sure you have a current backup so you can save all of your data and settings. If you haven't already done a backup, you can find the steps to complete that here: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Once you've confirmed you have a current backup, you can proceed with the steps to restore the software found here: If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

We hope this helps. Take care!

While the instructions unfortunately gave an error [Unable to locate package] on iTunes during Restore-to-Update, it did allow me to see on the iPad the 14.0.1 update.

It just confused me as iTunes was downloading the update for 14.0.1 (I'm assuming), failed to update during the restore process (after rebooting the iPad into restore mode, going into iTunes > Restore > Update) but once the restore process finished after failing, it did give me the option to update to 14.0.1 through Settings > General > Software Update. All updated and the error is gone.

Thank you!
