automatically increasing microphone sensitivity

Hi, I want to decrease mic sensitivity in options, because I need it to collect only louder sounds, but when I move the slider to reduce the microphone sensitivity and say something louder, the slider automatically moves, can it be locked in a given position?

Hello MatiM5,

We understand that the microphone input level is adjusting automatically when you are recording. You’re in the right place, we’d be glad to assist in seeking a solution.

Are you having this issue in the System Preferences? If you follow the steps in this article the slider should remain where you leave it:

Change the sound input settings on Mac

If this is happening in a specific app, you will need to find the preference for that software and turn off the auto adjustment.

We hope that helps.

Have a great day.
