stop mac calendar from opening up
I use Google calendar for everything. However, when I accept any invitations, etc. the Calendar on my Mac automatically opens. Is there any way to prevent that from opening when dealing with any calendar issues?

Have you selected "Google calendar" as your default calendar? Calendar>Preferences...>General>Default calendar app:

Quit Calendar, and select in Finder>Go to Folder...>"Go to the folder" enter ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist
Move the iCal.plist file to your Desktop, and logout/login from your user account, or restart your computer. Open Calendar, and reset the Calendar preferences.
Also review the "Accounts," and "Alerts" preferences for appropriate settings.
