I keep getting message on my iPhone and new Mac air "update Apple ID settings" and "some account services will not be available until you sign in again". I've signed in several times and nothing seems to help

Some people have fixed this by signing out of iCloud, restarting their device, and then logging back in. That hasn't worked for everyone.
