My 5 day weather widget only ever shows the moon (regardless of the time of day). For some reason this only happens when I set the location to somewhere in Utah (where I live). Other locations show the correct sun icon on the forecast. Is this a bug?

Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services
Have you given the Weather App permission there?
The behavior applies to the widget only. The icons in the opened app are correct. I have tried it with both automatic time zone and manual time zone setting but it doesn’t change the behavior. I think it must be a completely random and obscure bug because it also happens in my iPad. Maybe Apple is suggesting Utah is the land of eternal night??? 😂
Take a look at the original poster’s screen grab, you can see the location indicator next to the location name “Sandy”.
Mine is on as well (see below). I used the closest major city in my example screen shots rather than my exact location, but the permanent moon shows up in my precise location as well.
Issue in Vancouver, Canada, also.

Cincinnati isn’t my current location yet even after the 14.1 update, the forecast for that location still shows it being moony out all week.
And even if that was the case, it should still work when it is using my current location, should it not?
I think the bug could be based on your location. Meaning that non-current location icons are fine.
Is it on the Widget only or on weather app too?
Have you set your time zone set to automatic?
