The Overdrive for Mac app works on macOS up to 10.14 Mojave but does not work on 10.15 Catalina. Check Apple menu > About this Mac to see your version of macOS, and if it's 10.14 or lower, you can install it (download the installer here). If you have upgraded to 10.15, you'll need to use the browser interface for Libby.
Hi Neuroanatomist,
I have used Libby before and don't love the interface. Do you know if
Overdrive itself will work? Thanks again in advance for any light you can shed on this.

Easiest way to access OverDrive eBooks is via the Libby App on an iOS/Android device, or from your computer via a browser at this link:
That will work on your Mac.
Just tried the LIBBY interface on my laptop. It's much different than on my phone, where I had tried using it
for downloadable audio books. Libby works great on the laptop! Thanks!
Yes, I have 15. Thanks so much for your expertise.
