I can’t turn off screen time.

I have originally enabled screen time, but somehow after a while it stopped working (limits didn’t work anymore) and it seems like I forgot about it and didn’t give it much attention. But after updating to iOS 14, it came back and the limits functioned again. Unfortunately, I forgot my screen time passcode, so I tried to reset my passcode. I did reset it, but when I try to type it, it tells me that it’s a wrong passcode. I tried to turn off screen time, but I have to give the passcode that I can’t possibly get right although I just reset it. I tried to choose ‘forgot passcode’ again and type my apple ID, but then it’d consider it a wrong attempt and tell me to wait 60 minutes and after 60 minutes the same thing would repeat itself. Please provide me with a solution and thank you!

iPhone 7, iOS 14

nouramu,

Resetting your Apple ID password shouldn't impact using it to reset your Screen Time passcode as long as it's the same Apple ID that you had logged into iCloud and iTunes & App Store when you originally set up Screen Time on your device. If you're not able to reset the passcode using your Apple ID, you'll want to follow the guidance in that second article to restore your device using a computer. There is no other way to remove the passcode.

Good luck!

Hi, nouramu.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. We’re glad you decided to reach out about resetting the Screen Time passcode on your iPhone. It sounds like you have been attempting to reset it following the instructions outlined here:

If you forgot your Screen Time passcode - Apple Support

Make sure you’re using the Apple ID that was logged in when Screen Time was set up on your iPhone. Also, keep in mind that the Screen Time passcode and the passcode that you set to unlock your iPhone are different. If you’re still unable to reset your Screen Time passcode, we suggest using a computer to restore your iPhone to factory default settings.

If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled - Apple Support

All our best.

I can’t turn off screen time.
