I’m trying to install Windows on my new MacBook Pro using Boot Camp assistant but it keeps prompting me to enter a password for Macintosh HD Data. I tried inputting the password I used to login to my MacBook and it doesn’t work. I had Firevault turned off when I tried, I have since then turned it on and back off again to see if that would work. I would appreciate any and all help! Thank you.

Figured it out! there was an encrypted unmounted disk in my Utility menu that I was hesitant to erase, but it said there wasn't any data being uses. So I went ahead and deleted it and was able to proceed without a password in bootcamp.

As a test, create a new macOS account which has Administrative privileges, and run BC Assistant and check if the Bootcamp Helper will accept the password for the new account.

As a test, can you use Disk Utility to create a FAT Partition (not an APFS volume) on your internal disk?
whenever I try to it says "This container can’t be split, because one or more of its volumes is not mounted."
