Unable to empty file from Trash OS vers. 10.14.6

I have an item stuck in my trash - when I try to empty it, I get the message: "The operation can’t be completed because the item “Lightroom Catalog Smart Previews.lrdata” is in use."


I have tried multiple methods that I have found on the community forum, but none have worked. I am stumped. I have tried secure trash empty; I've checked the permissions and sharing privileges; even shift >control>option>delete - no luck with any of these. The version of Lightroom that I'm using is Lightroom Classic from Adobe CC. Even with all applications turned off I get this message that the Lightroom Catalog Smart Previews is in use...?


How might I turn off the Lightroom Catalog Smart Previews.Irdata?

If you open the Task Manager (Press Command-Option-Esc keys) is the process listed? If so, then Force Quit. If not, then open Activity Monitor, list All Processes, locate the process in question, select the process and Force Quit it. If you aren't familiar with Activity Monitor, then see:
