The method to delete apps on Apple TV 4K is to navigate to the app, press & hold the Play button, and then delete the app. This function is no longer working after iOS 14. I have 2 ATV 4Ks and made the mistake of updating to this disaster iOS at the same time and have the same issue on both devices.
Yes, this was a change. I don’t know Apple’s reasoning. Perhaps they wanted to make it easier to arrange the apps, but more difficult to delete by accident. But your guess is as good as mine on that one!

If you press and hold the trackpad, the app icon will start to wiggle. Then hit the Play button to Delete, Create New Folder, or Cancel.
That works. Did they change the delete method? I used to just be able to do by using the Play button exclusively.
