Macbook Pro 13 inch 2020 back edge ventilation is blocked for two small slots on one side?

Bought new Macbook Pro 13 inch 2020 week ago, found the back edge on one side (see the picture), the ventilation slot is blocked, it looks like apple design it that way?

Simply put, on left side, there's 6 slots, but only 4 of them you can see through (if you use your phone light), 2 of them are blocked. On the right side, there's 6 slots, you can see through all of them (no slots are blocked).

Why? why apple make it different on the both sides? Why they make the slots but block it though? I'm so confused, is it a mistake they make just on this Macbook I bought or everyone has the same problem? Should I return it?

Great thanks!

To understand this, one needs to look at the 15-in MacBook Pro. Ambient air enters through slots on the sides. It has two fans, each of which sends heated air out through one side of the rear opening.

On the 13-in model, there is no discrete graphics card or hot graphics RAM. so only one fan is needed, and the other side is not open, because nothing should enter or exit there.

First, thank you very much for the reply.

But I think I bought 16 gb 512 ssd edition with 4 thunderbolt ports, remember it should have two fans.

Also, actually it is not like one side is not open, both sides are opened, just like in the picture, there are slots on the both sides. but one side it has 6 slots, the other side also has 6 holes but there are only 4 slots (2 of those small holes are blocked).

Or let me use symbols to state it more clear:

if below is the 2020 macbook pro back edge, the squares represent ventilation slots. On left side, 2 of them are blocked as the dark squares show.

Sorry I'm just confused why apple design it like this, open the slots and then block it.

Interesting observation, I suspect it's simply a "fingerprint" of interchangeable parts.

Any manufacturer ... Apple included ... uses interchangeable parts and tooling.

Efficiency dictates minimizing the quantity of both to the largest extent possible.

When designing your specific body ... it might have been more efficient to reuse already existing tooling for the slots.

Or, the "blocked" slots might also be needed for "other" hardware options which simply aren't installed in your computer.

That said, I'd never examined my own MBP slots ... now I have. (8 "left", 8 "right," all 16 visually "clear")

Cheers.
