No messages to/from non iphone users on mac

I just got a new macbook, imported all settings from the old macbook. In iMessage all messages to/from other iPhone users are coming into my laptop, but no messages from people not using other types of phones. Thanks

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

In order to receive SMS/MMS texts to your Mac, you will need an iPhone, and have that phone configured for Text Message Forwarding to your Mac.
