MacBook Air being sluggish at times

I noticed that there are times when my Mac wont render the "photos" when I click on Apple Logo/About this Mac/Storage to check on my memory status. Whenever this happens, my Mac works too slow and would take time to open applications and folders. What could be the issue? Thanks Apple Community!

2021 MacBook Air slows until reboot My MacBook Air is about 9 months old and has had a weird quirk for awhile. All processes gradually slow down until I reboot, and that resets everything to normal snappy performance. This has nothing to do with internet/network speed -- it affects all system processes, such as opening apps, saving files, opening files, or copy-pasting items. It usually takes about 3-4 days until saving a JPEG out of Photoshop takes a full minute of spinning beachball to achieve, at which point I reboot, and everything will work fine again. I don't have any virus or scanning software installed.

MacBook sluggish when working offline I've noticed that whenever I work offline, my MacBook Air seem to be too sluggish when doing simple tasks like opening folders, launching Microsoft ppt, etc. Further, "photos" are not rendered in the storage/memory usage. this is how it looks when I check on the storage capacity while off line: Meanwhile, shown below is how it looks when I am working on line. the "photos" are rendered in the storage, and my Mac works just fine. Is there any solution to this issue?

Preview not working - using too much memory Whenever I try to open anything with Preview, the system jams up and the Force Quit Applications box eventually comes up indicating "Your system has run out of application memory" and showing that Preview is "(not responding)" but using 80+ GB of memory. This happens whether I try to view a PDF, jpg or any other file that defaults to Preview. If I force quit Preview, everything runs fine, and I'm perfectly able to open up these pdfs, jpgs and other files using other programs such as browsers, etc. I have a 2023 Mac mini M2 with 8GB memory running Ventura 13.2.1 and for the first several months since I purchased this set up Preview has worked perfectly fine -- this issue just started a couple weeks ago but won't go away.

There are times when the "Photos" portion of the storage bar would not appear, although the storage utilization would remain the same.
