using Apple music subscription to add tracks from an iPod

on Apple music, can you recover music that is on your iPod but not in itunes

What happened is my old hard drive crashed and when i installed a new one, iTunes won't let me add my iPod music back into iTunes. Even though I had a backup, I thought in time machine, I cannot find nor restore my music from it. the only copy I have of my 11,000 + tunes is on my iPod, I know there are apps you can buy to do this for you, but why should I pay 30-50 bucks for a one time use app?

I've also have tried all the free ways to try to do this and none will work for me.

JD,

Also, based on your post, take a close look at what you have in Time Machine. The audio files should be there too, unless something went wrong. If they are, that will be better than trying to recover from the iPod.

You are correct, in order to recover content from an iPod to your computer will require a 3rd party app. See more information:

Yeah, I pretty much have resolved myself to get a third party app. I did a trial with Imagic but it did not collect the artist or the art work which is not good.

I looked over several different time machine backups and while the iTunes folders are there, there is no music in them. Thanks for your help. JD
