Lag/Delay using Screen Time Since iOS 14

Has anyone else seen a severe lag/freeze/delay when trying to use Screen Time in iOS 14? This happens on my iPhone XR (iOS14 and now 14.0.1) and iPad Air 2 (iPad OS 14). When my kids request time extensions for limited apps, it takes 30-60 seconds to get into the request and the same amount of lag between steps in the approval. Other times, it will wholly crash the Settings app. In iOS 13.7 and previous, it worked flawlessly. I am able to still approve requests on my Mac, so it does appear to be a bug in iOS14 and iPadOS14. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

It doesn't look like anyone has any work around for this. I'm just glad I'm not alone and that is likely an issue with the latest update. It is frustrating that Apple doesn't seem to be acknowledging that it is a problem. Part of the reason I use their products is because the screen time has been a huge benefit with my phone addicted kids.

I've also found that one of my kids is able to text at all hours, even though his texting is supposed to be limited to just parents. My other kid is still locked. I've checked settings on everyone's phones and they are consistent.

Yesss!!! This works for me too!

An addendum...

For users with Apple Watches that cannot approve the time from their watches, try this:

When the request comes through, Hit the approve on your Apple watch for what ever time you want.

Then immediate go to your iPhone and approve the request also.

After you do this, you should be able to approve requests from your watch for now on.

Sounds like the watch just needed authenticate from the iPhone in order to start approving requests.

This helpful to know even your iphone X is affected. My 14 year old daughter told me it's because we all need a new iphone and Apple did it on purpose to slow down our "older" phones! I'm going to buy her a brand new Mercedes to drive to school with a work permit and the latest iphone 12. Then everything will be cool, right? Ha! I have an old soffa in a couple of rooms with a cover on it just to help her know that everything doesn't need to be new even though I can afford it.

ipress and this is all I get almost an entire minute before it moves on to the next screen. Followed by the same when I press my child’s name. THEN the kicker is when I finally loads it restarts every restriction I had in place. Causing me to re do it. And if I am lucky it will apply. This isn’t the case directly on my daughters phone though. I have to directly apply the restrictions on it. Which means lots of “Mom, mom, mom, mom, mom”
