There's another Name on my location for Find my iPhone

Why does it say someone else's name on my location for find my iPhone?

Hey 7119J6,


If Settings > name > Find My > My Location says someone else's name, it sounds like it is sharing your location from a different device.

If you go to the Find My app, can you change your sharing device?


"To change the device that you're sharing your location from, open Find My on that device. Select the Me tab, then choose Use this [device] as My Location."


Find friends and share your location with Find My

After reviewing your post, it seems like Find My iPhone shows a different name than expected. You can change the name of the iPhone using the steps in this article.


"To change the name of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, follow these steps:

  1. On your device, go to Settings > General, then tap About.
  2. Tap the first line, which shows the name of your device.
  3. Rename your device, then tap Done."

Hello Mario49,


I signed into iCloud.com/find on my laptop. It shows my iPhone with my name at my location but when I tap on the Find My App it still shows my ex husband’s name. When I go into settings, tap my name, then find my, my location says my ex husband’s name. Please tell me he can’t see anything on my phone.
