MacBook Pro won't recognize Apple Watch to unlock

I have used my watch to unlock my MacBook Pro instead of the fingerprint reader.. I just updated the watch and now the MacBook says it can't communicate with the watch. ( As required, my phone is unlocked and watch on.) Anyone else having this issue?
