Weather app that recognises location

I am using the Apple weather app on my watch. I travel between different locations and it is a nuisance having to (remember) and go into the Watch app on my iPhone to update the location. Is there a way to get the location to change automatically or are there any other apps that will automatically update locations on the the Apple Watch?

Hey Antony D'Emanuele,

We understand that the Weather app isn't switching locations as you travel. We'd like to help with this. To start, let's check the Date & Time settings on your iPhone. Tap Settings > General > Date & Time. From here, make sure that "Set Automatically" is selected. Then, let's check some settings on your iPhone in Settings > Privacy > Location Services. Just in case, here are more details about Location Services: Turn Location Services and GPS on or off on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

From here, make sure the following is set:

  • Apple Watch Faces, set to "While Using the App" and "Precise Location" is turned on.
  • Weather, set to "While Using the App or Widgets" and "Precise Location" is turned on.
  • System Services, make sure "Setting Time Zone" is turned on.

We also always recommend that you keep your iPhone and Apple Watch updated. For your iPhone, the current software version is 14.0.1, and for your watch it's 7.0.1. To find out what you have installed, tap Settings > General > About. If updates are needed, be sure to back up your iPhone first:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Update apps or use automatic downloads

Update your Apple Watch

Let us know how that goes.

Take care.
