No camera error message

Hi

Update to Cataline 10.15.7 overnight and lost camera connection which was working fine today. I have reinstalled still not working. started once in safe mode and had camera but no sound. Given so many of the world rely on video call for their livelihoods now please can Apple fix it urgently!

Sadly do not seem to have a backup to an older OS version so what can I do????

Hi Greytigger292,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. From our understanding, your FaceTime camera has no video output, do we have that right? You can try a few things to get this back up and running.

Check out How to reset the SMC of your Mac and Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac.

You also want to disconnect any external accessories you may have connected to your Mac.

You mentioned this happened in Safe mode, have you tried creating a new admin account and testing to see if it happens there as well?

Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

If this continues after following those steps, you may need to reach out to Apple Support. You may be able to reach them here: Get Support
