How do i get back lost contacts?

I connected two iphones an XR and 11 Pro Max to one icloud account and both phones lost all contacts, how do i recover them or what settings do i need to change to get back my contacts?

iPhone 11 Pro Max, iOS 14

Try iCloud.com/Account Settings using a computer browser and go to Advanced at the bottom left. Access Restore Contacts.
